Comics, streams, anxiety
Just thought I would send out an update of what I’ve been working on.
sam the junk 01.01.03
There’s a new episode of my comic Sam the Junk available on webtoon. I hope these episodes, even if they’re short, begin to introduce you to Sam’s world right before its turned upside down.
You can also read it from the beginning here. And I would appreciate if you subscribed to the comic so I know that people want to see more.
Live painting & sculpting
I worked on this episode recently on the Twitch live stream. We stream on twitch every Wednesday at 6pm - 9pm. It makes it a lot more fun when people are hanging out in the chat. I answer questions about the process but also tell silly stories and talk about pop culture stuff.
Here’s the stream:
And the that button down there is the twitch channel.
I freak out
I wake up in the morning with anxiety. It’s probably because I immediately start slurping coffee and thinking about how many balls I’m sometimes juggling. It’s not great.
I’m trying to work on it by starting a morning routine.
Eating a decent breakfast soon after waking up. This is counter to what I’ve done my whole life but from what I read it helps to lower cortisol levels after not eating all night. I do find that I’m a little shaky in the mornings. When I say decent I mean eggs, yogurt, nuts, beef jerky, blueberries - stuff like that.
I ordered some decaf coffee from Amazon for first thing in the morning. I’ll have to get over my bias of decaf coffee, but I’m going to give it a try. This is what I ordered. I’ll probably switch to caffeinated a little later in the morning but start with this.
Instead of jumping out of bed and panicking about all the spinning plates, I’m trying to not put pressure on myself to do or think about anything for the first hour or so of the day. You have to wake up pretty early to make this work. I meditate and walk a little bit on the stair stepper and then take a shower.
try not to freak out
I saw this video recently that I think you might enjoy. Especially if your brain is sometimes very loud like mine.
Let me know what you do in the morning to not have a constant freak out all day. This isn’t just a marketing email. You can get in touch with me any time by replying. You can also comment on these posts. Just letting you know.
